I kinda like the old 788 action. I had a 308 years ago and the rear lug design and bolt look good for a SML or sub muzzle loader conversion. They had a pretty good lock time and pretty light weight. No lugs on the front of the bolt seems like it could have potential. A little after market and new old stock stuff isnt that hard to find. The little box magazine could even be setup to hold a couple items. The other is the old Rem 600 which i have but cant bring myself to butcher it. It took me years to find the one i wanted and you never see them at shows anymore.

I pretty much do mine based on what's avaiable for after market stocks. Then 700Ml's use to be dirt cheap and are easy to do, but I need to look at a couple of more options this winter before tackling another build.
