Hey fellas, I just bought a used Ruger Super BlackHawk, Stainless Steel, 4 5/8 barrel in 44 magnum. It is in nice shape and the price was right even with the little problem it has. The loading gate is a little loose when it is supposed to be in the closed position. These are supposed to snap shut crisply and stay down flat, but this one does not. I suppose if I fire it with full house loads it might pop open. I need to fix it and was wondering if anyone had any advice. Thanks in advance, Rman

Dwight, it's been about 45 years since I last played with disassembly of a Ruger, any Ruger; but, I think you'll find a "gate detent spring" that locks the gate to the frame. Maybe yours is broken or could be pulled outwards for added tension.
Use the internet, or contact Ruger for an exploded view of the frame parts; order a new spring if you have to.
