PPosey,
Grew up in WNC -- Canton. I've seen a fair portion of the Northern Hemisphere myself. As I recall from one of your past posts your are in Bryson City. In my opinion Neighbors Drive-In in BC has the best B-B-Q sandwiches I've ever eaten. I still have a cabin up on Nantahala Lake.

Hey No kidding, I have spent many many weekends up on Nantahala Lake in a big green canoe,or an old beat up bass boat, usta go up there when I was a kid and there were just a few houses around the dam and up on Chogee however you say it,,Now there are huge Million dollar homes everywhere, and yep Neighbors has some good food,, I always get the cheeseburger, onion rings, and a reallllllyyy good vanilla shake.
There is some pretty good hunting up in that area as well,,,, killed my first buck up near Rainbow Springs over 30 years ago.

Hey Posey, this is a new twist to meet the members but I like it I have lived in tidewater/hampton roads Va for 60 yrs. I would rather hunt and fish than eat. My hunt club is in Cumberland Co Va. We have electricity. We have running water but we have to run and get it ;D There is also a 180 acre lake within walking distance of my hunt club that is the best kept secret in Virginia. I worked for the welfare dept for 26 yrs giving away misery after I got out of the Air Force Now I am selling smiles, I build water fall and back yard ponds ;D If any of you are up, out, Or down this way look me up, I would love to meet ya ;D Rusty

Chogee, Choga, Choge -- I can say it but, don't ask me how to spell it. I generally say Yellow Creek. Some kin had a farm -- underwater now -- up Jarrett Creek. Still have kin in Topton and Andrews. I've hunted around Rainbow Springs, Dirty John, Winesprings, and Wayah Bald since the late 60's never killed a deer there lots of squirrels and grouse though. In 1970, when they were cutting FS 711 up past Dirty John, I helped carry a dead man out of the woods, he'd been shot by a young boy on his first deer hunting trip. A 170 gr 30-30 silvertip at the base of the throat doesn't give you any chance at all. I've worn blaze orange ever since. Deadon, Spent some time in Tidewater, VA -- Ft Eustis. Imagine I joined the Army to drive boats. I haven't drunk gin since then . 3 of my 4 kids are in the military and they've been through Tidewater. Air Force daughter Langley, Army son Ft. Eustis, Navy daughter Norfolk. And yes they didn't agree when the were young either ;D
