hey all,
it was an evening hunt in the back yard. he is walking s/w at & stops behind a 4 stumped willow tree & looked at my way & i had my scope already on him waiting for my shot & i took it about 4" below his throat patch, thinking i was gonna drop him right there.
he took a few more steps south & no shot.....then he turned around & went right back where i shot him, the way he came from & his tail was just going crazy shaking left & right & up & down so i knew i hit him...a few seconds later he starts walking away & i have my scope on him ....he is starting to clear the last of that tree & i see his right shoulder & let him take 1 more step & i pull the trigger again, and he takes 2 big jumps & i cant see him anymore.
the first shot elongated him,we found the bullet in his left rear quarter & the second was found in the left front shoulder right under the skin.he has about a 221/2"outside spread & field dressed 182#s.not a monster but after the year i had......wrap"em up i'll take him. lastofthebreed

Very good reading. I am happy for your success and that you recovered the deer when it could have easily been lost. Good job.
