I had the same question but it was answered when I bought and started using a trail cam. Older deer are morn nocturnal and I got pictures of deer that I had no idea were in the area. Young deer probably are like young humans and need to eat often and a lot. Older deer learn that being disturbed during the hours of darkness is unlikely. Night time pictures reaveals images of those old boys you would love to see during the hunting season. OZark

6-3 during bow season, 3 during gun and ml season. My buddy saw at least 4 that I did not see going by his description and there was a big 14pt that neither of us laid eyes on that the landowner saw.

i52.photobucket.com/albums/g15/lobotracks/DSC_0059-1.jpgMy hunting buddies and I saw a lot of legal 2-1/2 year old bucks this year. Last year I seen 10-illegal bucks the opening day of rifle. This 8-point, I judged at 18-months. We have antler restrictions 4-per side and we're requred to have one inch brow tines. The problem with the system is that we have a lot of older bucks running around without brow-tines. We also have seen a fork horn with a 20-inch spread--we know he's approaching 4 1/2 and of poor genetics. I took this buck because I'm not a trophy hunter and wanted to take one with a x-bow. Have a great day! Dave

I saw 2 deer all season gun and mz one was a 14 point buck that I promptly shot. This deer was probably 2 1/2 years old. Had 3 big sticker points and a forked G-2.
