You're right, Doug, about the need for speed movement; what wasn't advertised was that, as speed increased, so did vibration and noise. The Z7 just erased all that.
One thing I should mention is the trouble I had paper-tuning the bow at five feet. I just couldn't shoot "bullets"; I tried three different arrows and three different fletches; I moved both my nocking point and my rest a dozen or more times, even switching rest types. The more I shot, the worse it got.
I corresponded with Mathews technical support; they advised me to return the bow for testing.
Finally, I figured it out: the bow is too fast to be "forgiving" of form and release errors. My torn rotator cuff caused me a good deal of pain every time I drew the bow, so I was tensed and both my form and release suffered. When that light dawned, I managed to ignore the pain and subsequently shot two consecutive bullets, then put the bow down for the next couple of months. Hopefully, I can have it, and myself, ready to go by September.
