While the New Mexico rifle season is only a two day affair I elected to use the 50 cal pacnor I had built this spring. I have 5 hunts for this fall using the Savage/Pacnor combination. I stayed with 68 grains of H4198 and the 300 gr Barnes original. The day before season we located 3 shooter bucks we thought would go 80" B&C Min. At 1st light this particular goat was in the same area as the previous evening. So with a planned stalk in gentle little rolls of the land I took the shot at 125 yards. I thought maybe since the animal is so small in body that the big bullet might not expand as quick as a thicker heavier animal, however I was suprised, the entrance was nickle size with the exit 3/4 the size of a tennis ball. He went no where. The final measurement was 78+. It happened quick but I gotta like it. I will hopefully post a few more pics of different hunts this fall and keep you posted on pacnor performance. Jeff~

Jeff,
Havn't posted here in a while, but saw youre post and knew it must be somethin good! Iv'e always labeled you as a pro hunter and youve taken some mighty fine animals over the years.
Wow, nice antelope. Great stalk and a great shot.I presume that 50 Pacnor shoots really well and I see you have a Leupy on it. Great scope. Again nice goat and nice rifle.
p.s. Still using that Zeiss scope, love it.
