We all need to become very vocal during the potential onslaught of Constitutional Rights. I can write to NY governors and other politician. NY State residents NEED to do so now. And need to get friends and relatives to do so also. news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090124/ap_on_re_us/ny_senate_seat

Ahh, Garden City my home town! Question: isn't the point of the article that Kirstin Gillibrand is a pro-gun person, so isn't that a step in the right direction for gun owners? I guess youp you are saying to write to oppose McCarthy's stance? Here's some other news for NY'ers, although not on guns, but: the pheasant stocking program is officially ended, and that money, which comes from hunter's licenses will go in either the general fund, or what Gov. Patterson called the "Conservation Fund". In addition, it is proposed that a $10 trout stamp be required in addition to a regular fishing license, and a for the first time saltwater fishing license is being proposed. These are all oriented at offsetting the state budjet crisis. It is also at a time, when the state, and everyone else involved in hunting and fishing, are trying to find ways to encourage the youth to become interested in outdoor sports. That's my beef for now! Sorry for the confusion.
Now is the time to be diligent and watch for people to back as well as oppose. You seem to be getting a pro gun politician appointed by your governor. Perhaps you should take a second or two and let your governor know that you approve of the appointment. Perhaps you could contact your new Senator and tell her you approve of her appointment.
I realize that a pheasant stocking program is something to be concerned about. I trust that you will bring all the sources you have to bear on these problems. get your friends and neighbors to write. Handwritten letters carry weight. Join the NRA. get after your Natural resources board. If you even think that these fight will be won by others you are mistaken. These fights will be won by you. We all need to act.

The squeaky wheel definitely gets the grease. We all need to be diligent in contacting our representatives. If they think they can ignore us with impunity, they will.
