Even though it’s still hot this time of year there are signs Fall is approaching and for some that means hunting season is around the corner. But to start with for me is the maturing of garden vegetables. Freshly harvested and enjoy natures best offering. As garden offerings diminish, daylight gets shorter and more cool weather moves in that signals hunting season is not far off. Then it’s time to check equipment and firearms before the main event. When that’s accomplished it becomes a waiting game for opening day. As we watch the leaves from the trees begin falling, we sense the hunt is near.
During this lag time some of us may get out and carefully scout the area we plan to hunt. Then plan how we will approach the area without being discovered. Here it becomes a game of not getting busted before having a chance on your intended game animal, chuckle. One obstacle that may have to be dealt with when navigating wooded areas is dealing with a frosty morning. Stepping on crusty leaves can generate loud noise that can warn an animal of your approach and put him on alert. The only option I found is to travel like a deer moving short distances, stop to look around and listen. You’d be surprised seeing what animal is watching you.
Yes the season will soon change and life moves forward.

It is getting closer and I have much yet to do. A great time of the year.

Yes Fall is a great time of the year. And of course there are chores to complete before Winter. My one regret for 2020 is the introduction of Covid 19 pandemic that has put a real damper on my plans of what I wanted to accomplish. I hate being put on hold but will tolerate it for now, as if I have a choice, chuckle.
