Plans Go Awry

I was looking forward to really getting back into PT testing this year after dealing with technical issues last year. First off, I have had to deal with kidney stones this Spring and now that I’m on the mend I was hoping to get out soon to the range. My friend with the range membership is also ready for some range time but informed me that the range is on lock-down with this covid-19 virus, nuts.
Round 1 was to finish 4227 testing with standard Savage BP (compliments of billc) and 250 gr bullet. So far there have been no issues with using 4227 and I’m not expecting any here when load is properly constructed.
Round 2 I hope to move to 2400 and 250gr bullet that once was a recommended load. I need to see what develops here.
From there I hope to have acquired some 4198 that is difficult to find a supplier for at the moment. Here I have a commitment to Reloader22 I need to keep. The only thing I can’t provide is a timeline when all this will happen. But it will eventually happen.
I can imagine what some think of my approach to testing powders and responses obtained. It’s not about proving but about learning. Yes, I have more equipment than the average 50 SML shooter so all my results can’t easily be duplicate by others but a necessity for me for testing. When possible, I will try to incorporate the standard Savage BP.
For now it’s time to play the waiting game until an opening appears.
