Going through my case (shipping crate) for bullets and sabots I found about 9-bullets from the past. This brought back some memories of when I first started working with the 10ML-II. Yes, those were struggling days to get my SML to shoot decent groups. This was the first bullet tried that would produce a reasonable group. That year I deer hunted with that bullet but never got a chance (shot) to see how they would perform. Just when I thought I had a good bullet it was discontinued. Another memory of that hunt was when I saw one beautiful buck 200yds across a field I was navigating to another bush lot. Because I didn’t feel confident at trying a shot with the level my SML was performing all I could do was watch that buck casually moving along a hedgerow. What did irritate me a little he would every so often stop and look right at me feeling I was no threat. It was that day I was bound and determined to get my SML 200yd capable. With the help from this Board that day eventually arrived but such a shot never presented itself again. I purposely didn’t identify the bullet to see if anyone else still recognizes it. Ed

10 hours and still lurking on the sidelines waiting for the bullet ID :-D No one seems to want to take a stab at identifying the bullet. Its is a .452" dia. 250gr PTX. This bullet and sabot I used back then did produce a slightly tighter load. I just didn't pickup right away about the benefit of a tighter load. Ed

I believe Thompson Center made the PTX. I think once the 250 Shockwave took center stage the PTX was discontinued.
