Hi folks
I have a great LBT mold that is .459 @ 330 grains and has gas check option.
I have started powder coating these hard cast bullets for my 45-70 and it got me thinking about full forming them for the smokeless Brux
Anyone tried a PC bullet out of these guns?

Tried them today and they shot really well. 2450 FPS and one hole at 100

Are you able to load pics of the bullet? I also load for 45-70 and have a Brux FF die. Sounds interesting

Are you sizing , Full form or smooth, before or after powder coating?

The steps I do are as follows;
I cast them and water quench
I run them through a lee 458 sizing die first and then PC them.
Afterwards I install the gas check and run them through the lee 458 sizing die again.
Then I put the bullet through the full form swing lock die to engrave rifling.
POI is same as 458 Barnes 300 TTSX at 100 yards that we use for deer.
I don’t know if they would work smooth formed or not. My hunting load is also way below max load as well.
I am going to test several more of these and hopefully the prelim results will carry on through.

How does the powder coating hold up at the engraving, is it scraped off or does it remain intact?

It stayed fully intact.
