Looking for ideas/suggestions. I replaced bolt nose and breech plug with large rifle primer kit from PRBullets. The bolt would not close with a primer adapter in the bolt nose. Apparently I have one that is oddly head spaced. Had to remove may 5 thousandths off of primer adapter base to get bolt to close. I had applied a lot of force trying to close the bolt prior to. Now the bolt is difficult to open and close whether cocked or fired with or without the primer adapter. I cannot find burs on the bolt, bolt slot on the receiver, on the action screw that slides in bolt slot or the slot itself and the firing pin doesn't show any marks to indicate binding on the bolt nose retaining pin. It is sometimes extremely difficult to cock/raise the bolt. I am a big strong guy and have deep stone bruise in my hand from raising the bolt.
Any suggestions of what the issue could be? Thanks for any help.

Just a wild guess. After all other bases have already been covered, probably something inside the bolt. The bolt can be taken apart by unscrewing the allen screw in the back of the bolt.
The PR Bullet kit requires a different head spacing than the factory plug. He should be more specific to a customer about this fact. With the new plug in place, the barrel nut needs to be loosened, the barrel backed out some, the bolt put back in. Place a primer carrier in the bolt, then close the bolt. Turn the barrel back in until you can feel it touch the plug, then tighten the barrel nut. Check how much pressure it takes to open and close the bolt.....some slight adjustment may be needed.
My 10mlII has leaked gases around the primer no matter what type of plug was installed. An "O" ring inside the PR plug cured the problem, but it took yet another head spacing to do so.

I do know how to take the bolt apart. I had to do so to install the new bolt nose that accepts the LR primer adapters. I have assembled/disassembled several times looking for issues.

Thanks for any help. Sounds like a bolt issue. Open your bolt and place some penetrating oil where indicated. Wait a bit and close the bolt and try to cam it up and down. Whenever my cam action stiffens up I put a drop or two of gun oil at this location. Ed

Is the rear screw dragging on the bolt now?
