How long do I need to give the barrel between shots to keep from damaging sabots?

10-15 minutes when temperatures are 60*-70*. Gets in the 80-90’s forget about it.

If ambient temps below 50 then you can probably do 2 shots if loads modest, then wait 12 to 15. If ambient temps over 50 then a 12 to 15 min wait needed after 1st shot and all others. Use of a "cool rod" can cut the wait to just a few minutes, I use Aluminum rod turned down to go in bore easily, absorbs heat of barrel quickly. If ambient over 80 and up forget sabot shooting.

Some good info there fer ya. The higher the powder charge the higher the temps go in the barrel after the shot. When temps get about 80 i use a cooling rod or i have plenty of time here on my place to just let my ML cool. I can shoot once an hr like that n do (2) 5 shot groups every day. I have used those frozen ice paks nput towel over barrel n laid them on the barrel to cool. Take them back into the freezer n go shoot. Yeah its a bother but does lets me shoot more
