Ordered an MGM 445 super magnum from MGM I had a 12" barrel on a Contender that would shoot 2" groups at 100 all day Provided I did my part. With De. new law I ordered a 460 barrel first then decided on the 445SM for my contender frame as it has the best trigger of any Encore or Contender I own It was done by a gentleman named White but have since lost his contact information I have been shooting 240 grain Speer bullets but never game tested I think I may want to try 180 grain anyone have any loads for lighter bullets Thanks Lou

no hair test but I've got one that is a converted kp1 44 mag barrel and I've just got another from MGM. I am getting 2125 with a 240 bullet behind 32 gr of 296 (110) out of the kp1 barrel which is way faster than the xtp's and sierra's are rated for. I just got some speer deep curl.

I have been told that because my barrel is 27" long pistol bullets won't shoot accurately because they are designed for pistol sized barrels What bullets would be suitable?

the one that everyone seems to favor is the 265 bullets. But speer indicated that the deep curl will hold up to the velocities. There are even some reviews that indicate that some are using the deep curl in 444's and seem say they hold up well. Hornady 225's are suppose to be rated (per loading manual) to 2000, I'm probably going to mess with them before it gets all said and done
