Ive been working on muzzleloaders for a long time and rarely can i not find a load that will shoot.
This 50cal strikerfire has me beat.
Ive tried every sabot and bullet combination possible. Sealed ignition system with federal 209a and different scope and rings. Im certain ive tried every thing I know.
The gun will not consistently group under 4" at 100 yds.
Here's my main question. The rifling land to groove dimensions is 50/50
Very wide lands seems wrong and bore is .504 and groove is .518
Everything about this seems wrong.
Anybody have a similar rifle.
Its a customer's gun and im not a traditions expert but i truly believe barrel is a bad production item.
Thanks Jeff

Grooves are way too deep for conicals and sabots. .504" bore diameter should be .511" groove diameter, .512" maximum.
How is the trigger?

Trigger is best part of gun.
Do you think barrel is just defective or normal for traditions

They must have done some work in the trigger department then, they used to be horrendous. That's good to hear.
I haven't monkeyed with one or recommended one in several years, as their are much better choices for less money. So, I Haven't had one visit my range so I could actually shoot it in the last 7-8 years. But that's patch and round ball rifling depth.
I would attempt to get Traditions Customer Service to replace the rifle/barrel, but good luck with that. You'll probably end up right back with what you have now, if they even look at it. I've heard they still have Peggy working for them.
"Hello, this is Peggy".
Maybe they've done some work in the Customer Service Department as well?
Good luck!
