Ok, yes it’s been covered, but a while ago.
I’m looking to put a smokeless barrel on my older encore to be able to hunt whitetail sabotless. My absolute max would be 150, if that.
My MLII is awesome, but I’d like to use my encore as well. What and who do you recommend? Price and quality are important, I don’t mind paying for quality, but there is a point of no returns.
At 55+ I’ll never be a benchrest shooter, I just want minute of whitetail... I’m just an average shooter.
Who is good, but not over priced??
Thank you.

I don't think you're gonna get much done for $150.00
You might find a used TC Bergara 45/70 barrel to have converted.

I think he meant 150 yards lol. Luke or Bestill are the only way to go. Both will make sure you get a product that you are completely satisfied with.

I have one of Luke's Brux Encore barrels for two years now. I shoot sabotless and can't find a bullet it doesn't shoot well. It is 300 yd shooter. Could not be happier.

Yes, I’m sorry, I meant 150 yards would be my present maximum distance. Basically where I hunt now , a 50 yard shot is generous. The woods are just pretty thick here.

I have 2 45-70 TC factory barrels that I had the chamber D&T'd for a Savage SML breach plug. Both shoot good. Have both converted barrels on Encore frames. For next year I plan on getting a smooth side sizer dies and do away with the sabots.
Haven't but take 2 deer with the conversions as I have been limiting out with bow and rifle.
