When I was shooting holy black and smokers I was a diehard user of "cookies" under full bore boollits. Well now I'm going to try some of the Fury full bore boollits and wondering of any thoughts for cookie use. will be shooting BH209 and 28 twist in original Rem and TC ML barrels. Also will be trying some of my full bore cast boolits. I usually use "hard" cookies so as not have powder contamination even when gun loaded and not fired for a long time like in hunting season. I think cookies certainly provide lube, better gas containment and softer residue and easier cleaning with smokers. What are your thoughts and experiences for use with BH209?? Long range black powder cartridge guys should have some experience and insight on this discussion. Thanks, 10

I would try a veggie or wool wad, I would not put a lubed wad on my powder column for sure. In the Fury bullet discussions many recommend a veggy wad under the Fury .50 cal bullet for optimum performance.

Cookie in this context is a round slice of hard lube between the base of bullet and a veg/wool wad. Mostly used in black powder shooting to keep the bore lubed, protect the bullet from gas cutting and keep the fouling soft. I'm thinking it may help with sealing the bore/bullet area better. Just after the thoughts of shooters as I try to improve performance of lead bullets in my 50 cal MLs. Not really necessary with bullets with copper jackets to help prevent leading but may still help seal the bore. 10
