Guys, I have a Pedersoli double-barreled 12 ga muzzleloading shotgun with a broken main-spring on the right side lock. The break is clean and my question is...is it possible to have the break welded and then re-temper the spring to make it "springy" again? I've looked on the internet for a spring but all I have found is a complete new right side lock, hammer and all for $150 bucks, obviously more expensive than having it welded if that is possible. So...is it possible? Thanks guys, BOBinIN

Did you contact Perdersoli? I saw a post where a guy got a part straight from Pedersoli by contacting them from their web site.

Got the answer straight from their head gunsmith...yes the spring can be welded shut and re-hardened. Now we all know!

I've gotten new springs from Pedersoli for a .36 cal Mountain rifle lock. CenrterMark sent me 2 for my tulle. I contacted both of them, asked for info on how to get a replacement Main spring, and the cost for it, for (Name the gun) and list name, address and phone and e-mail, and thank for any assistance. I rec'd the springs with a thank you letter for explaining what I was doing how/when it broke. even if the send info and cost list, it's less expensive than a new lock.
