I just purchased a 700 remmy in .223rem. and would like to hear what powders everyone uses and how accurate they shoot. Thanks in advance.

I shoot Varget for everything .223. I try to shoot temp stable powders, and Varget is better than most. Lately it's been 73-80 gr stuff out of an 8 twist, but I've had great results with 50-55gr stuff from my 12 twist Remingtons as well. Both my 8 twist guns are 1/4" guns @ 100yds, and the one has proven better than that. My 700 BDL has shot a few 1/4" groups, but I consider it capable of 3/8" groups when everything goes well. All with good bullets and varget.

I read some good things about Alliant AR Comp used in bolt guns. I use it for AR15 reloading and it's been a tac driver for me.

My Mini-14 eats a bunch of 55 gr SP's with 28 gr Win 748. It is not a tack driver but Minute of kill zone at 200 yds. A few guys I know use 748 exclusively in their bolt guns and for woodchucks.

Accurate 2520 with 62 and 69 grain bullets in a Rock River AR. IMR 4895 with 55 grain bullets in a Ruger bolt action. Accuracy is better than me <1/2 inch at 100 yards.

26.4 grains of CFE223 and 55 grain Vmax give my AR nearly 1/4” groups at 100 yards. Can’t figure out how to post pics.
