120gr (volume) BH209, Harvester Light Blue sabot, Knight Disc Elite .45 with 1:30 twist barrel, shot very well.
If I remeber correctly, grouped just a tad lower at 100 yds compared to the 200gr SST

Thanks guys. Didn't know how well the sabot would hold up for saboted loads.

A max 120grV load of BH209 and a 200gr bullet only makes around 22-23Kpsi in a 45x40 sabot.

It would probably be well under 25Kpsi. Sabotless 250gr and 85gr by weight (120grV) is under 24Kpsi. So basically, a Harvester 45x40 sabot will handle pretty much any BH209 load you wish. Ive shot SML loads with sabots im sure are breaking 33Kpsi and i dont think you will ever get that high with BH209. It needs a pretty heavy bullet just to break 30Kpsi.

In my Knight Mountaineer 45 caliber I push everything with 120 grains of Blackhorn. You may find slightly better grouping with a slight knurling applied to the bearing surface of the bullet. The Barnes (at least for me) have not been as accurate as some other Bullets, but not enough difference to matter in a hunting situation. Just FYI....I’m getting consistent sub 2 inch groups at 200 yards using the Fury 225 Star tip bullet.

Used to be my favorite bullet in my 45 encore barrel with BH209. They make 2 holes even with shoulder shots. Maybe not as accurate as some other bullets but plenty accurate as a deer bullet. I knurled these and 110gr. BH209 in a harvester light blue sabots.
