Buckstuds hear looking for a fall adventure. I am looking to go hunting someplace within 10 or so hrs of upstate New york. No big money ranches. Muzzle loader or rifle. looking to have fun and meet some members. A four pointer or a truck load of does would be fun. Maybe some help pointing me to a state land track or share in your lease. I don't want to hunt your number one spot. Any ideas or helpful direction,i will go from there.

No ohio guys on hear. How about a place you use to hunt but have moved on to greener pastures. Anything, I have a tent and could stay at a campsite near by.

I guess I will go back and hunt the 140 acre state land spot I hunted three years ago. Some one can delete this thread, it is ok with me.

I stayed at happy hills campground and cabins in nelsonville ohio. Hunted down the road a mile or so and right behind the campsite. Only problem there was a lot of hunters in the woods.

We used to hunt just down the road at Lake Hope State Forest and stayed in their cabins. You had to reserve one a year in advance but there is primitive camping available. It will be cold more than likely. Lots of area to hunt and the deer are smart but you will see some. We hunted in archery season (first week of Nov.) Always wondered how it would be in shotgun and muzzleloader. I think it would be a great hunt but have never tried it in gun season. I am 3 hr. North in Ohio. You can use muzzleloaders in shotgun season. Some big bucks come out of that area but are hard to come by!
