I have had 4 tail cam's set out since the snow thawed this past spring. I have seen a lot of cow elk and deer. I did not want to bother the elk while they were calving so I left the cameras go for a couple months. I checked them this weekend giving them new batteries and a fresh SD card. I do have a bunch of cow/calf pics but I did get a few other critters this time. Here is a little bull elk. Should be a nice little 5x5 by hunting season. Big cow with twin calves. Bunch of bear pics: I will update this thread with some other cool pics.

Yep, definitely some Yogi action. They did not show up until the calving season. Bears are not on my must get list. I have passed on many of them over the years. No intentions on shooting one this year. I am after a bull elk and a buck deer (mule or whitetail) this year.

That's awesome!! I've been running cameras since March and really not much to show. I have one deer I set two cameras up on to see if I can get better pictures of. I have 3 out west and I haven't checked them since April.
Thanks for posting.

I'd be carrying at least a .357 with some kind of solids for back up. When I hike checking the cameras, I carry my Glock 40 (long slide 10mm) with a Trijicon RMR red dot. When I hunt, I just carry my RemPac .45 ML. I never carry a handgun while hunting. I don't need to carry the extra weight. The bears do not worry me at all. Mountain lions on the other hand are a different story.

I did get a picture of a UFO. An Unidentified Furry Object to be more precise. Probably one of the very elusive New Mexican Squatch critters.

And another predator pic as this coyote was cruising down the ridge.

The spot I got the bobcat picture seems to have a lot of predators. I maybe hunting predators there come December.
I have a Browning Strikeforce HD that I bought because a friend highly recommended it. It's a good camera but I don't feel it's as good as he made it seem. He compared it to a reconyx and said it's basically the same thing just a basic camera, meaning it didn't have all the Bell and whistles like the reconyx. I found out I can't run 32g memory cards in it which is frustrating.
Your cameras look to take pretty good pictures. I like the bear pictures and would love to hunt bears someday. Thanks for posting your pictures.

Have you ever used up all of a 16gb card's storage? Don't have a 16g but have been using 8g and depending on time I left the camera out, yes. During summer months I'm finding out that you want a big card incase you get false triggers due to heat and vegetation. ***Also I'm trying to get them out west where I mule deer hunt and they can be it for over 4 months at a time before I check them. I'm planning on putting them out in December before I leave out west and check them in spring, April. Get an idea what they do during December when I'm not there to help me figure out how to hunt there when I am. ***

I am running 32Gb cards in my Browning and Stealth Cam cameras and this gives me 10k pictures. I don't plan on leaving them unattended that long. I will switch to video mode in a month as the bulls start to get frisky. That will suck up some bandwidth but fresh lithium batteries and checking them every 2 weeks will work.

AJ I didn't know of the problem with the bigger card in my Browning Strikeforce until after I had a problem. I read a lot of people having issues and when I talked to Browning they were also seeing a lot of issues. Not exactly sure if it's just the Strikeforce but once I pulled batteries and let it sit for 24hrs and put a 8g card in, it went back to working. With the 32g it froze/locked up.
What Browning cameras do you have?
Been interested in the Stealth Cams however with the Bushnell I have working so well I may not but anything else.

Went to move one camera today because I thought I had it set to far from trail/mock scrape. It was giving terrible results, found it it took a crap. Placed a Primos back up in its place and we'll see what happens. Won't buy another Spypoint camera wasn't happy with it from day one.

I went out today to check the cameras and found some cool pics. I saw some cows and calves and a couple deer. I had not seen a buck in this area all year. Now I get this pic and it has me excited for deer season. Here is a spike bull checking out the camera. Here is a shot of the herd in a monsoon. There are 3 spike bulls in this pic.

Those are really cool. Looks like rugged terrain. Yeah, it is definitely challenging. The elevation is 9100' and the cameras are 1 mile and 1.5 miles from any road. It is about 600' elevation change from the parking area to the cameras. It will definitely suck if I shoot one in the evening time. Plan on 5 trips to get the critter to the truck. Maybe a couple less if I use my game cart. But it is still going to suck bad.

Well over 10k. We don't really get that high in southern New Mexico.

went out one last time before my hunt next week and I was not disappointed. The bulls were screaming and responding to calls. On my last outing I switched the cameras from pictures to videos. Here is a little bull singing on camera:
A couple nice little mule deer also.
