Working on 2 builds for this upcoming season and want to put a illuminated reticle/bdc scope on one of them any info welcome. Have a 25 year old IR BSA on my 22WMR that I use for coon and fox calling. That the only experience with IR that I have. Any particular reccomendations? Expect ranges to be 25 to 150 yds at dawn/dusk so thinking a 2 - 7 X ?? would be good. Thanks, 10

By "IR" are you referring to infra-red? If so I can't help you but if you mean just a lighted reticle then take a look a Leupold. I have a VX6 and it's amazing. The combo of he glass and lighted center dot I can shoot well past legal shooting times. The VXR series uses the same great firedot but a little lower glass but is still a fantastic scope. The VXR 2-7 would be perfect.

Not a BDC reticle but I would look at the Weaver Classic Extremes. For the distances you are talking should be point and shoot, no bdc needed.
It's a really fine dot. Does not wash out in low light. On low power acts like a red dot for fast acquisition of moving targets. I love mine.

The Weaver Classic Extreme 2.5x10 50 or 56 mm is a lot for the money. Natchez

I just put a Hawke 3x9x40IR Endurance on the Excalibur 380--supposed to take a lot of abuse. Nice quality glass and IR dials down really low. I'd be concerned about the internals putting anything on the SML as they can chew up a cheap scope pronto.
