For anyone out there interested- I didn't like the way my CZ trigger (.308 cal) was so far forward and could not be adjusted backwards, so I took a chance and bought a Timney trigger, and it is noticeably farther back than the original, and works well.

Jim, Mine is a CZ 550 American .308. Besides the trigger, I also shortened the stock 1/2", sanded off the cheek on the stock, had the barrel shortened to 22". I wanted to retain the sturdiness of the CZ, but make the weight and length a little more manageable. Now, I just have to remount the scope, and sight it in again. Pete

Thanks Jim. I put the scope back on it Sunday, and shot it for the first time since making all the changes. the final group was a 3/4" group at 100 yards, prone resting the forestock on my left hand on a log, the best group I've ever gotten with a deer rifle. Pete

I just sighted-in a .308 bull barrel CZ with the set trigger and notice that in the "set" or forward position it is alittle far forward for me. The rifle shot 168gr. Winchester Ballistic Silvertip under MOA pretty regularly.

Tarheel, the set trigger obviously doesn't have to be used, or if you wanted to take it off it is easily done. I had a gunsmith remove the set trigger, as uncocking it gave me the willys, and in any case I didn't like it. Then I got the Timney trigger, which is in a better position for me.
