I really enjoy Ky late mzl season, this is when I try to take a couple does for the freezer. After not seeing any deer last weekend, I thought I'd try again after getting off work a little earlier than normal. Got in deerhouse on ridgetop about 2:30, didn't take long, about 3:15 2 does come up out of holler on left side. Decided to let McRem eat first at about 60yds, 275gr MH did its job. She ran about 40yds and piled up. About 15mins later a doe came up out of holler on right side, it was the Savage's turn. 40yd shot, 20yd death run the 300gr BO performed as expected. Looking thru scope it actually looked like her whole shoulder turned red at the shot! Great but short hunt!!

Some big ole does! That Savage 50 was the twin to mine before the 45 barrel swap.
