I am currently using a Bench Master rifle rest shooting off of a very stable custom built shooting bench. The problem ls with the Bench Master there is just to much movement in it after years of use. I am looking for a better rest. Cost is not a factor. I am not impressed with the Lead sleds either...any rock solid leads? Pun intended..

Never used one of these but they look pretty good. www.dog-gone-good.comI currently use this bullbags.I use a rear bag under neath the back aswell the only problem is you will have have to make the bag and little high with some wood or something cause the bag set pretty low but they have the taller aswell but never used the tallerange bags.these bags are awesome and so is ther customer service. All so if you want it it will grip the rifle for u if you want it to or you don't have to let it. I use the 15 inch. Look up Bulls bags on you tube what the guy that display it and stuff at the show.

You mention portable and lead sled type. What are you going to use this for, bench work or killing?
If killing, I recommend the Hog Saddle on a good tripod. If bench work, I recommend the Sinclair BR setups. I have both and love both for the intended purpose.

Just bought the Caldwell Rock BR on sale at Midway. Havent used it set but it seems solid. I think the Sinclair is probably a better rest but much more $$$$.

Tar, I have the benchmaster and have used it for a long time, I have experimented with using a bungey strap around the two tubes as well as completely around the rifle it will help reduce the movement . I also have one of the sinclair benchrest models. The sinclair is way more precise and the one I use most often however it can be tricky to kept the rifle with a thin forearm lined up between the rest and from bag.
