I was in a ladder stand but could look behind me and see the field my boy was watching from his blind. Around 5pm yesterday I spotted 2 deer making their way toward him. A short time later I heard the crack of the gun and watched as the doe went straight to the ground. Shot was around 80yds with his Slufoot Apex 45-70 conversion with 55gr IMR4198, 250BE and no wad. Standard Savage plug with vent liner using Fed 209A primers. The deer was quartering to and he hit high in front of shoulder at downward angle. The 250BE destroyed everything in its path and broke ribs on the offside that I could fit my fist into but did not exit. He likes this set up with one powder, one bullet, no wad. Makes reloading easier.

Alright Alex, make that old man drag some more deer. No dragging required. Gator picked it up from field where it fell
