New to me any way...I picked up this used CZ 452 17 Mach 2 off of Gunbroker. A little on the ballistics...Hornday 17 grn Vmax...Muzzle.....2100 fps.....100 yards..1530 fps...200 yards...1134 fps per their info. I will run them over the chrono when I get a chance for real world numbers...but I hear they are very close to advertised. I gave it a good cleaning and installed a YoDave spring and shim kit and was sastified with the trigger breaking at a crisp/glass like 2.3 lbs.....I mounted a Nikon Prostaff rimfire that I had replaced with Weaver V-16s...9 shots later and I had it dialed in at 50 yds....it BEGS for better glass! A side note...the jack wagon that I bought this rifle from sent it to my FFL dealer loaded...yes loaded! with a full clip and one in the chamber! I have purchased a lot of used firearms over the years and this was a first... Headed to the timber here in a few.... This is going to be interesting to see the terminal performance...I will take a body shot just to see the results.

Find what ammo it likes and stock up. Can be very hard to come by and not so cheap anymore. The 17's like to be cleaned frequently. Even just a bore snake every 20 shots may be necessary to sustain accuracy. Each gun is different and will tell you what it likes. Likely not telling you anything you don't know, just throwing it out there for the masses. Lol. Good luck with her!

It loves the Hornady and fortunately for me my bud had 30 k and I have 1k setting on the desk and will get more immediately! I have seen a lot of ammo available for them this year but as you know it can become scarce. I will become a 17 ammo hoarder! lol

Very nice! I've purchased two muzzleloaders in the past 5 years that came to me loaded. Never had that happen with a metallic gun.

Obviously you are ahead of the game then. Lol. I had over 5k at one point, but sold it all with the gun. Mine was a gray laminate, ss Marlin 917V that I just could not get along with for some reason. I have same/similar in 22mag and 17hmr that I love, but the oddball wasn't meant to be I guess.

Nnice shooting! I've been meaning to track down a CZ but I'm thinking a heavy barrel. The rifle pictured above is a HM2 HB (Varmint) and my son has 452 .22 Varmint. Aboslute tack drivers...I literally shot the tacks out of the target when we were done..if you can find a 452 varmint thats the way to go...their replacement is the 455 switch barrel....most guys myself included prefer the threaded 452 over the 2 screw 455.

Amazing group, especially for a gun a guy was willing to part with edge.

Amazing group, especially for a gun a guy was willing to part with edge. I know this is a broad statement but every CZ I own shoots like that. CZs barrels are "tight"compared to everything else out there and I believe this contributes to their outstanding accuracy.

I think there may some skill on the shooter's part contributing to their oustanding accuracy . Chris
