The bushnell banner was not cutting it in low light conditions and I was left looking for a 3x9x40 to replace it and after much research I settled on a Nikon Prostaff rimfire. I was apprehensive since I have never owned any Nikon glass and was going strictly off of reviews. I was pleasantly surprised by the clarity of this Nikon. I have some Lapua Match grade hollow point ammo to feed this 452 CZ American sporter and I am going to run it through it in the am. I was going to do this yesterday but a old friend from my competition hunting days called and was going to Autumn Oaks to hunt a dog in the UKC hunt there and wanted to see me and my son..So my son and I loaded up before daylight and headed out. My friend is a full blooded Cherokee Indian and one of the best people you will ever meet. It was good for the soul to see my old friend! Here is my rifle decked out...
My son got a head start on me this year with his bull barreled 452 Varmint in .22.....it has a Leupold VX-2-3x9x40 I had the factory parallax adjust at 60 yds for him....a very deadly combo....5 for 5 on head shots...
Here is a interesting picture of a cross bred squirrel...Fox squirrel body with a Grey squirrel tail...pretty neat
I couldn't take it anymore and besides I want to go kill some squirrels in the morning with my son so I dragged out the portable bench and my coon hunting light and made a midnight run down to the bean field....lol It did not disappoint! First shot was on paper and after I calculated how many clicks were in order the next 4 punched a nice tight little group! Not bad for shooting off of a homemade bench using your pick ups head lights!! Love me some Lapua Match ammo for sure...I sent a picture to my son and his reply was is your out of excuses...lol like I ever need any....
