Tried a new lake this year for our yearly Canada trip. Needless to say we won't be returning as the fishing was very frustrating and the "remote location" lake has way too many access points that allow the locals to drag their own modern boats in. We each caught about 50 8-12" walleye total at the end of seven 12-14hr days of fishing. A bit of a let down compared to the 100+ 16-20" each day, like we are use to on lake Kabinakagami Insult to injury, about a 3lb sucker "minnow" The look on his face says it all

Surprised they let you back in the country. Never know if it will be a good spot unless you try it, better than working.

What province is that lake in? My Grandpa took us every summer to Lake Osnaburg in Northern Ontario. I made it up there 7 summers. Fantastic walleye and northern pike fishing. Many fond memories with my cousins and Family up there.

While remote lakes can be ideal for peace and solitude, it seems like accessibility might have impacted the fishing pressure on this new lake. Perhaps next year some research into less-accessed areas or exploring fly-in options could be a consideration?
