As most of you know I help out down at Pierces Engineer well one of their customer sent them a barrel and then backed out of the build so I got the barrel the action for basically the cost of the action and they let me coat it and it together first centerfire I have put together a lot to learn. chambered for factory ammo 168Gr 308 Win Krieger 1-12 twist, Calvin elite, AI Chassis, 20 Mia rail, not sure on the break customer send with barrel. I figured be perfect for my boys to shoot Low recoil

That's awesome. Teach the boys the love of custom guns and they will never have money for drugs. I wish I had your luck and friends.

Looks great!
Question, does it matter for harmonics if the fluting goes with the rifling vs against? Does it effect resonance and if so should it be a function of the twist...or is it just aesthetics?
edge.

Like I said before Pierce had the barrel and action done they call the customer to confirm color to finish it up he back out of the build the customer supply the barrel and break. The fluting is more flat than deep and not much fun to tape off.

Update Started working up up load Varget 43-45.in half grain increments 168 SMK three rounds of each seating depth was 7000's off the lands. Three of the five tested shot showed promise I called a buddy of mine and I asked him where should I go from here he said running about 2000's of the land and here is the results Absolutely the best group I ever shot I wish I could say I could repeat it regularly but I can't.
