Last year I got to brag about winning our yearly egg shoot at our clubs big day,but this year there is no bragging from me.Just wanted to share this with all of you.
Richard, myself and Bill our shooting buddie didn't do so well this year but one of our shooting buddies did as we watched an increditable 300 yd egg shoot.
He got to the line and busted 4 eggs in a row and his time was 1.47 minutes.
I had zeroed 2 rifles in for the egg shoot thursday morning and both were capable of busting the eggs. One was my 223 savage in 223 and the other was a savage 260 that I had changed to a 260 from a 243.
Now this is where it gets interesting,a fellow wanted to shoot the egg shoot but didn't have a rifle to shoot so I offered him my 260 to shoot.I got everything out for him and only had 4 bullets for it.
After the first shooter (Bobby) shot the 4 eggs he said he wasn't going to shoot so I packed every thing up for the 260,In a few minutes he came back and said he would shoot it.I told him it didn't matter if he hit a egg or not it was all in fun.
Well it came to his turn to shoot and danged if he didn't bust 4 eggs in a row.Remember I told you the time of Bobbys shots, well this fellow busted 4 eggs and his time was the same 1.47 minutes.
I didn't have any more bullets to have a shoot off so they split the win.
This is one egg shoot I will remember wished you all could have been there to see it too.We had a great time.
I had put 4 rounds in my pocket to shoot, when I got home I pulled out 3 empties and one loaded round,I must have been more excited than I thought I was.Did manage to bust one egg and that was more than well enough for me.
