Mammoth was a good time: 27 miles of rucking through the Kentucky mountains, rain, snow, high winds, and 11challenging stages with targets out to 1100yds. Rockcastle Shooting Center were great hosts and the sponsors were great. We finished 9th of 43 Extreme Tough Man teams. My partner also won the target detection event and got a gift certificate for a Kinetic Research Group rifle chassis.

Living hard to be hard. Congrats on the great finish! In all honesty there is an Open class that doesn't have to camp or force march. There isn't much of a reason to do Extreme....unless you win. The Extreme winners left with two NF F1 ATACR scopes and a Barret rifle.

Looks like a good time except for some of those positions. Makes my back hurt just looking at you laying on those pipes.

Laying on those pipes looks awful and a good chance of scope eye.

Congrats on a good showing. Like to hear more details. How many days, distance traveled daily, scoring, etc.

The match was four days: one day of field craft (stalk, target detection, range estimation) events, then three days of movement and shooting. The first day we shot 4 stages with 2-5miles between stages then a 5 mile to our camp site, the second day was the same but when we got to the campsite they gave us the option of doing the next movement (which was another 5 miles)so that we could sleep in a barn because they knew we had rain, sleet, and snow coming. A few teams elected to go and several failed to make time so had to drop out. We weathered out the storm and just marched in the snow the next morning. That day was only three events and a 5 mile movement back to the lodge, lunch, and prize table.
