Wholly crap those are big deer. As we know, hunting pressure doesn't help, but good odds a big deer will survive unbeatable odds. If those deer are around you and your habitat is similar, no reason your odds are any less than theirs. I hope you get a chance at one of those giants!!! Wow. Good luck.

Bait more to hold them. Some people do not like the practice, self included, but it will help hold the deer on your property. Start hunting during bow season too so you can take advantage of the rut. You don't have to hunt over the bait if you do not think it is ethical, but if you want to compete with the neighbors you may have to change tactics.

Dave: You are correct. I know I would do better in the bow season and I have taken deer that way. That 4 letter word crops up however, WORK. Maybe in the future. I have planted food plots just to help them out. I did not want to sound like sour grapes as if I never get another I have got my share of decent deer in the 140 to 160 range and have an excellent place to hunt so I am more fortunate than most. There is a big lease less than 2 miles away and I think they have over 30 acres out in Ladino Clover and other plantings etc and regular corn feeding. Hard to compete there but that is life. The photos look better enlarged. Another fellow took a 20 pointer they say in my county but I have not gotten any photos of it yet to post.
