Santa brought me one...in two more days Here is another review: That was a much better review and gives me a little more confidence in possibly buying one of these

I saw where 45Omega gave a brief look at the Sporter model last week. Anybody else using one or using the V3?

I got the V1 right after they came out. The plug in it did not work properly and would give no readout, no matter how hard it was pushed into the unit. I emailed them about the problem. They not only sent a return postage slip through email, but sent a new unit the same day with one day, overnight shipping! So, no sooner had I shipped the defective unit, I received the new unit the same day! They explained that a total of three defective units had skipped through QC and I got one......should be so lucky with PowerBall! I'm thinking they will stand behind the Sporter as well.

I have the Sporter model and like it. You must not however sight in with the bayonet on the barrel or your zero will be way off. The only operational issue I have had is battery life in cold weather and I really think the next trip to the range I will but the little black box in an old heavy glove with a chemical hand warmer under it and a hole pierced for the cord to go through.

I took my Sporter to the range and it worked perfectly, even with my rigid sabots there was no issue ( no impacts with the bayonet ) and it recorded every shot. Since I don't have a brake on and off for reloading takes seconds. I think if you had a brake you MIGHT want to load without taking it off or perhaps modify the strap with a quick disconnect.
I have two other chrono's but I normally shoot through a tunnel which has no light in it so my only choice would be to set it up at 100 yards at the target end which is a real pain since you can't tell if it records each shot and the target house has florescent lighting so you need auxiliary lighting too!

That sporter is sounding more and more like a good deal.
