Hello all. Ive been a long time lurker of this forum and found it really helpful and informative. I have just picked up a 700mls that i would like to build off of. Im wanting to use blackhorn and smokeless with possibly parker bullets. But i am a novice at shooting sabotless. Should i build it 45 and shoot sabotless or 50 and sabot? Im really wanting to use this muzzleloader for longer ranges. Out to 450+ where my pro hunter falls off.

If you are in a state that allows it I would chose sabotless. I had a scary accurate NULA .50 that I sold because I was tired of sabots. The 450 yds/m plus, I think is a stretch for most shooters if you are talking about hunting though.

Im in a state thati can use pretty much whatever as long as its a muzzleloader. But i may have the chance to hunt in states that do not allow smokeless. Not sure on sabots though. Im a regular shooter out to 800 yds with most of my rifles. Thought it would be a plus to reach out there with a muzzleloader as well. My pro hunter is a 200 yd gun max what im comfortable with in its accuracy potential

If it were me, I would use the Brux barrel and Arrowhead breach plug. I think Luke ( Arrowhead Sporting Goods LLC) carries all you need for the conversion. If you are going to shoot at extreme distance you would probably benefit from a brake in order to shoot the high BC 300 Master Hunter or 270 E Max (Parker) or 300gr. bomb (Keith) at the speeds you need for killing energy. You as a long range shooter know the value of velocity and BC.

Most of my rifles are running high bc berger or matchking bullets. Reading from this group has been a great wealth of knowledge. Muzzleloaders are just a new area for me. The high bc bullets that im seeing used in the builds on these pages has me intrigued to say the least
