Shooting heavy, slow .38 Spcl 158 gr bullets, the impact is considerable higher at 25 yds than a snappy .357. They stay in the barrel longer and therefore exit when the muzzle has already risen a little. Just my experience and presumption.

Just musing to myself; 1. If the gun doesn't recoil until after the bullet is gone, what makes it recoil at all? 2. If a 45 acp pistol bullet leaves the barrel before any part of the gun moves, why did they need to install a delayed blowback system in that gun to keep the breech locked until the bullet is gone?
