My Son and I hit Lake Waveland this past Sunday along with our friend Pat Allen and we had a outstanding day on the water. We were on the water at daylight and knocked off at 1pm. We caught approx.350-375 gills and we kept 272 that equated to 15.7 lbs of fillets.....we are getting ready to roll out in a few minutes to get after them again....forecasting a beautiful day...

There are only 2 times a year that you can catch them like this and we take advantage of it! It is a labor of love for sure....we caught and kept 191 this morning....with 2 of us running electric fillet knives and 1 de-ribbing we can knock out a big mess in short order as we are seasoned veterans....lol.....we vacuum seal them in 1.5 lb bags.....we stock pile natures bounty to enjoy all year long.....we really enjoy our wild game and fish.

NICE!! The gills are a little late on the beds here but we have been nailing some in the 8-11" range on the outside of the spawning beds with dew worms.

Caught a few myself yesterday. Cleaned them and fried them up for a great lunch.
