Does anyone have experience SML hunting in Ohio. I have been hunting SE Kansas the past 4 years with good success but would like to find something closer to central PA

The deer numbers are really down in our area the last few years. There are some areas away from here that have better numbers but seem to be spotty. I am in Marietta, Southeast Ohio

Thanks for the info. Low deer numbers seem to be the norm anymore. I might try western PA this year, just for a change of scenery.

About an hour north of Hunter and last year was THE WORST I have seen in Ohio for deer numbers. Been hunting Ohio for around 25 years and last year was a first for me, never saw a buck during gun season, and only one mature buck during bow season, and I hunted hard last year. Everyone I have talked to, not very happy with their season!

I only hunted the January ML season. I did not see a buck that I would consider a shooter during the 4 day season. 2-1/2 days of rain did not help. A buddy of mine did shoot a 162" buck out of a stand I hunted in the past. I'm sure the weather kept me from seeing one older than 3-1/2 years of age.

This is the second year in a row I didn't at least have a shot opportunity on a "shooter"
I hunt 95% of my sits on public. I only seen 2 really nice shooters all season...both were during arcHery.
Numbers are way down, but like mentioned b4, that's about the norm everywhere, so I'd say give it try!
