Natchez has some really good pricing on the Super Slams and SS Euros now. Just ordered another 3-15x50 EBX for $389.00 + shipping. IMO I think they are great scopes especially at these prices.

Thanks to Natchez's great sale pricing on Weaver scopes, I have 3 new builds underway that now have glass to top them off. 6-24x50 WCE illuminated duplex, 4-16x 50 WCE illuminated german and a 4-20x50 SSE duplex. Not a bad deal IMO when you can get three scopes with good quality and pretty good to above average glass for under a grand. Natchez's sales sure help the budget when you have multiple guns that need optics. I feel you can't go wrong with these scopes at these prices, this will make 5 SML's all wearing Weaver scopes.

I just ordered one last night to rescope a fine ML I got from bstill. I wanted the duplex but they were out and got the German reticle instead. The ad said when they are gone they are gone and that might be right. For under three hundred for a scope listed over nine hundred, pretty good IMO. I have almost half a dozen of them but paid more back when. A lot of scopes for the money and I have been satisfied with them.

FYI Natchez couldn't answer question but weaver said super slam is 2nd focal plane and euro is first focal plain.

I've been looking at these, but don't know much about them.
Sounds like most people here think they are worth the money and good performers, yes/no?
Thanks.
(Sorry for my ignorance, what's the difference between 1st/2nd focal plane & which is considered "better"?)

I think they are excellent scopes especially now that they are steeply discounted.

Nice scopes all but the Super Slam Euro is an extraordinary deal for a do all scope of that quality. JMO

How does the super slam compare to a Zeiss conquest? $539 at camera land for a 6.5-20x50

To those guys that have bought one of these Weaver Super Slams recently, say within the last couple of months, where does it say they are made?
Japan?? Phillipines??
Thanks

Guys SSE's are stamped Japan. I would need to see them side by side to compare to the Conquest. The two guys that I know with adjustable objective Conquests needed warranty work soon after they were mounted on a SML, leaving me less than impressed.

How does the super slam compare to a Zeiss conquest? $539 at camera land for a 6.5-20x50 I'm not really sure how the glass would compare between the two, I've never owned a Zeiss, but IMO the Weaver would at least get the advantage of being able to go down to 4X vs. the Zeiss's 6.5, the Weaver is also rated to have more eye relief and has a 30mm tube. The Weaver is a bit cheaper as long as Natchez has their sale going too. IMO, those are the advantages I looked at when purchasing. The Weaver SSE is a bit heavier than the Zeiss I believe, guess that could be one disadvantage, and if the Zeiss has better glass, which I'm not sure of, that would be a possible advantage for the Zeiss. I do know the turrets are really nice and crisp on the SSE, tracking has been spot on so far and the glass is pretty darn good for the price. I'm sure the Zeiss is a really nice scope no doubt, I just chose the Weaver over everything else for the reasons I stated above and because I felt like ya get alot of bang for your buck. I honestly was ready to order a Clearridge until I noticed Natchez put the SSE's back on sale, so it was a no brainer for me, even though I was really wanting to try out a Clearridge, I thought the Weaver was just a better deal, so I went that route.

My Weaver arrived today and it has the Phillipines on it. For clarification however it is a 4-16x50mm Classic Extreme and not an SS

Thanks for info the guys. I have 5 Conquest one on a SML but just bought another SML and need a scope. As Guy mentioned the 6.5 power on the Conquest on sale at CL is not as low as I would prefer. May just give the Weaver a try.

schunter, FYI, Keep in mind, the multi x or duplex reticle on the Super Slam Euro, are VERY fine. Great for bench shooting but may cost you a little at dusk and dawn if it's going to be a hunting scope. Luckily the light transmission is pretry good on them, so that does help some, but I wanted you to be aware that they are very fine x-hairs.

OG, Thanks for that point as the primary use will be hunting. I wish one of my LGS's had the Weaver but they don't. If the Conquest was a 4.5-14x50 that CL has on sale it would be a no brainer for me.

The classic extremes have either a traditional duples or the German cross hairs, the bottom and sides very heavy except the center and not on the top. Also illuminated if desired which can help. I have one of the Weavers with the fine cross hairs, IMO good only for the bench or varmints in the daylight. Very light and fine, they have their place but not in a low light on a deer/dark background IMO.

Yes the WCE's make great hunting scopes, that is also another great option and value, the SSE with the illuminated german would be a FANTASTIC all around scope, it's just too much coin for me and never seems to go on sale...

I have commandeered ohioguys stock of weaver scopes and one of his vortex, first impressions just glassing on a clear snow covered day is that optically the weavers have a good edge on the vortex. The SSE looks to be on par with all the quality scopes that I own and click adjustments feel good while fondling it in my corner of the house once these are mounted up Guy and I will put them through the paces and see how well they like a beating with recoil and their tracking capabilities. They look promising though!

BSAs are a fine scope when upgrading from a $39.95 Centerpoint, Sightmark or NcStar.

The Super Slam and Super Slam Euro I bought from Natchez last month both have "Japan' marked on them. Hammer, Thanks! I'm going back and forth between the 3-9x56 Euro and 3-15X50 "regular" SS. What do you think?? How do you like them so far?

I really like the scopes and would not hesitate to buy more. If you don't need the extra magnification I would get the 3-9x56 SSE 30mm tube and fist focal plane illuminated reticle.

Can one of you guys tell me which way you turn the power adjustment ring to increase the power on these scopes? Left or right? All my Zeiss turn to the left to increase the power. I had a Trijicon and it turned to the right to increase the power. Drove me crazy sold it.
