Unfortunately I don't shoot very often anymore, except hunting. If I did I would volunteer to take a split bushing and install it in a BP for use as I doubt anyone could tell it was cracked once it was properly fouled.
If one exists after hunting season I would be more than willing to make a loose fitting plug as a test dummy but can't guarantee how many shots I will be able to put through it.

Wanna feel bashed? You should see what they've done to the poor, old, fat, ugly, out of shape guy that supplies the bushings.

Wanna feel bashed? You should see what they've done to the poor, old, fat, ugly, out of shape guy that supplies the bushings. I have shot 15 various loads through a bushing that fishhawk did for me with a new .030 bushing. I used Loctite, let it set over night. Bushing looks fine. Sent pics to fishhawk in a pm.
BTW: Note these shots fired thru a split .040 bushing in early October. Heaviest load was 70GR of 4198 with a 275BE.
Pics below:
I was just playin' around not really taking this session too serious but managed to crank all the shots off with a split 040 bushing.
Left target is 250SST with 65gr IMR4198. Middle is with 275BE with 70GR of 4198. #1 shot was 4 inches low, cranked turret up 16 clicks. Right is with 250SST with 10/55 4179 and 4198. #2 was an errant flyer. Love the duplex.
I was shooting off my "Southern Polish" soft hold. Don't get me wrong I don't really like shooting with a split bushing, but it does work.

Yeah I'm going back to duplex till hunting season is over. The group I produce on Sunday proves it was the winner.
After season I'll be trying to decide on the BE's or mh or APB. Starting to see the full form bullet can be more intense than I want for hunting purposes. I love the idea of full form but if I have to line the bullet up exactly the same every time not sure how much of that I want to mess with that, I'm making things to complicated I think. I really want to shoot long range so I might be finding myself back to high dollar bullets but these cheaper bullets continue to prove themselves. Things to think about for sure!
Awesome groups rambler.

SNIP. I love the idea of full form but if I have to line the bullet up exactly the same every time not sure how much of that I want to mess with that, I'm making things to complicated I think. SNIP. It really takes no time at all once you get the hang of it! Use a nice black sharpie to mark the bullet land/groove and put a dab of whiteout on the muzzle. 80% of all shots I have taken for years have been lined up like that and it becomes second nature. edge.

My experience with this... .040 bushing with a 7/32" modified plug.... tight press fit on the bushing...anti seize... bushing split somewhere between 60-80 shots. .030 with a stock bushing plug... very loose fit on the bushing..ID on the plug was .2505... bushing was .2475... I chose to locktite after talking to fishawk and after 80 shots the bushing is doing fine. I question that the locktite is the reason for the bushing holding up.The locktite being subjected to the intense heat when fired over and over would make me think that it's effectiveness would be very little. I believe that the carbon buildup in the stock plugs and .030 bushing is what is making the difference in durability... There is no carbon buildup in the 7/32" modified plug with a .040 bushing... When using anti seize as per instructed along with no carbon build up plus a possible flaw in the bushing makes for a potential problem.I don't know nuthin and most of the time I can prove it..Just my thoughts Zen

FYI the duplex load was using SR4759 and IMR4198 at 100 meters. Sorry for the typo

JB weld it in or start with a new plug and open it so its a tight fit... yep that should do it....
