Today here in the NC mountains has been for the most part, drab, breezy and chilly. I walked out the kitchen door just before sunset and almost as if on cue the clouds opened and the most beautiful golden spotlight of sun shone through. In an instant I was overwhelmed by the beauty and intensity of the light show on the already flaming fall colors. For an instant the majesty of God's creation shouted how blessed we are to live in this country that values freedom and to have the ability to enjoy His beautiful creation. Life can deal to any of us some tough hands to play but we here in the USA have a life that is much better than many in third world countries. For this I am thankful. this picture does not do justice to what I saw and the fuzzy focus is because I only had a few seconds

Agree. We have been the most blessed of all nations. I pray for our nation. God is so good!

Thanks for sharing that picture that shows God’s handiwork. For me it has often been the sunrise accompanied by warmth of a new day that has moved my soul and inspired thoughts of God. I’ve also wondered what the full glory of God would look like if this is but a glimpse of His Majesty.

The fall is the most beautiful time of year for sure. We just had a young, up and coming photographer friend of ours do a family photo shoot in our yard. Was a beautiful day. She took a dozen pictures in a dozen areas and it was amazing to see what one second means from one picture to another. One picture looked good, then the very next would have a sun ray in the woods that wasn't there a second ago (clouds shifting etc).
Only get about a solid week of "peak" colors. Enjoy them while they last. It's about to get brown, black grey and white around these parts.

Beautiful pic thanks for sharing. Reminders like this, make me proud to be one of the millions who have defended this beautiful country we have been handed, and a big thanks to all the others who have served as well.

Well written Ike!! Reminds me of a pic I took a few years ago of my first lab Indy on his last hunt. He died a few months later in my arms. Man I still miss that dog. But having a companion like that shows how amazing our God's creations are! The date on the pic is wrong it was Oct of '09

Beautiful Mike! Gods Majesty is right. So glad to have friends like you who realize this. Looking at that beauty there...and gracefully fluttering there in the breeze is "Old Glory" herself. Drop
