I believe the powder (5744) is totally unsuited for this application. It is way too fast and the velocity would be very low. Powders of the speed of the 4198's H-322, etc work better. Try 55-57g H-4198. If you are going to have only 1 powder for the 45 sabotless, H/IMR-4198 would be a good choice.

thanks SW been waiting for u to answer me ...always here to learn more about 250 grain bullets and 45 pacnor..on my way to basement to load some 4198...i'm just looking for an excuse to go to the range ...put a resonator on my barrel to try also..always probing

Don't shoot 57 grains of H4198 with a 300 grain bullet! But with a 250 grain bullet it would be fine. Try these guidlines H4198. 250 grain bullet 55 to 57 grains 275 grain bullet 53 to 55 grains 300 grain bullet 51 to 53 grains
