That's awesome! Is it going to be more of a target rifle or can you use it ml hunting? It will mostly be used for some impressive (hopefully) range work but it will be after for elk or mulies before long! Gotta get a 5pt harness to lug it around the mountains though! It's quite comical to see this thing sling over my shoulder. It's absolutely huge and I'm not.... Hard to put into perspective but that scope is huge and sure doesn't look like it on this rifle.

Meyers129,
That is one well made rifle.
If it shoots as good as it looks it will be deadly on the long rang elk and mulies!
Best,
Mike

You could trailer it behind an ATV or maybe hire Guy to lug it around so your not worn out when a shot presents itself Can you post some primer carrier and breech plug pictures? Bring on the targets!!!

Earnhardt, the powder chamber holds 120grs of retumbo. Didn't leave much room to throttle it back from my goal for this rifle, checkers or wreckers!

Nice looking build for sure. To be honest my real interest will be how your powder chamber responds to ignition through a temp difference range. Feel free not to answer this question but what influenced you to cut such a large powder chamber?

Ed I cut the chamber so large because I wanted to keep the maximum useable barrel length without making the barrel longer than 30". For influence..... Let's blame EARNHARDT!! No just kidding, I admire josh for the long range work he does and would have gone .416 if I was normal but I wanted something a little special. If this doesn't work out for the standards I set at the start of the project I will likely change setups until I get what I was after. I want to push 350gr bullets at 3000fps and it's gonna take a lot of powder and a little extra pressure to do it. That's a major factor for why I went lugged action and a LRMP setup, for the expected pressure.

Myers129 Thanks for your candid answer. Hey Earnhardt has big shoulders for shooting those heavy recoiling rifles so a little credited blame for influence shouldn’t burden him at all. Nothing wrong with having something special. Ed

That is a sweet looking rig.... Make sure you bring that beast to the next Kentucky shoot... Early in the spring. or late winter, we can get some 1500 yard shots in the river bottoms... Jeff.
