My daughter killed her first deer when she was 8 years old with a crossbow in 2012. We were hunting out of a double bull blind and using a Caldwell dead shot field pod as a rest. The deer gave her a quartering away shot at 36 yards. I told her that the deer was 35 yards as she had practiced in 5 yard increments out to 50. 36 would have confused her. The giant ran about 30 yards and fell over dead. What a monster to an 8 year old.
She shot her second deer with a .243 in 2013 when she was 9. We were in the double bull blind again and using the Caldwell dead shot field pod again at a different location. This bruiser stepped out at 80 yards quartering away, ran about 50 yards into the woods out of the field edge and fell over stone cold. Both deer waiting for Scoring in the Pope and Young, and Boone and Crockett.
Folks, take your kids hunting and let them share in the success. These are my two favorite hunting pictures that I have ever taken up to this point and the only ones that I have posted to this board. Good Hunting KIDS! Kyle

Way to go great scooting young lady congratulations. Kyle it's to see you bringing the your daughter into the woods hunting with you , I can only imagine what a wonderful experience it was for you. That first picture is priceless, and in my view is worth more than any Pope and Young or Boone and Crocket.

just cant beat being there when they get their first ones. I have a 9 yr old baby girl that's going for the first time this year, older brother is already jealous but he is 11 and already killed 13 or 14 or something like that, what does he have to be jealous of? LOL
