Hope I am not branded an unbeliever. Just put a hold on a used Remmy 12 ga 870 Special Field. I know it isn't a SML and isn't gonna be a donor but I've always wanted one and have been on the lookout for a loooong time. It is in good shape and has been hunted but very little wear exterior and the bore is perfect. It didn't come with any chokes, yeah it has remchoke, or box but the price was right. Anyone else here shoot a 870 Special Field?? I happened on a Browning 12 ga BPS Special Field couple years ago and it shoots real good but I really don't like the bottom eject and the BPS action that much. Looking forward to really wringing the 870 SF out in dove season and see how it does. The 1st real hunt will probably be some groundhog sluicing around the soybean fields, nothing like a magazine stuffed and a pocketful of #2 and walking the beanfields for runners, LOL it's great fun, and good snappin turtle bait. Hope all well. 10 ga

I was selling a Knight M-L a while back, great condition 'Extreme'. I already have enough backup Knights, thinning the herd.
Anyhow, the buyer asked if I was interested in an 870. I said I'd take a look. It was an older one in great shape, 2 3/4" chamber. We did an even trade. I figure I could always sell it, everybody needs a good shotgun.

Hi,
I've owned an 870 SF in 12 gauge since they were first available (25 years ago?). Used it many seasons rain, snow or shine. It's a very quick handling gun, the straight grip takes some getting use to, killed many pheasants, grouse and woodcock. I hunt over spinger spainels. This is up in the northeast.
It's a nice compact gun, best shot # is 5 @ 1 and 1/4 ounces, or #6 one ounce loads with the improved cylinder.
Good luck.
