Anyone ever tried these with some of the bullets available?

I have 100 of the sabots but haven't found anybody that reloads .480 Ruger that would come off an assortment of bullets. I asked Hawk bullets which bullets they would recommend back in 2001-2 and they started carrying the sabots from Harvester. IIRC back in 2005 TB had some leftover Hawk .475 bullets from testing a .52 cal Knight and did some shooting with .475/.50 sabots with very good results but then never went back to it. I think that if it got out that you could shoot the same bullets that Knight packaged for the .52 out of a .50 it might kill the sales on the .52 rifle (Knight packaged bullets for the .52 are .458 and .475 diameter). I often have thought the .475 375gr Red Hot in a .475/.50 sabot would be pretty good bear load out of a Savage.

I see a Barnes bullet (275 gr) and a 325 and 400 gr bullet from Hornady available (XTP-Mags). Is the 375 gr you mention profiled better? Are there other bullets out there?
I would test some of this out. With less sabot proving to be better most of the time, it may be worth trying. PM me if you are interested in parting with your sabots and we can work something out.

Hawk offers some spitzers in 235, 250, 270 and 300 with .035 jackets (which should be close to the BO) plus a pretty good variety of FP and RP in rifle bullets. Then they also have in the muzzleloader line some different of FP and HPs.
