Well i got the barrel in this week. Now it's time to get the rest of the things I need and hit the range. I'm already looking at building a sml bolt action. Thanks everyone I've got the itch.

Love the step by step progression deermangler!, Im in the early stages with my Savage (all factory except..) Ive bedded the stock, bought a SS plug from Precision Bullet, had that primer seat depth milled .010" to get a good seat on all primers *took away the head space issue's the primer showed after firing too* Put a picatinny rail style scope mount on so I would have more room to set the Nikon on and adjust for a good fit an feel, (I cut that rail to match the breech opening to give me a wide open access to the 209 cradle, fig it would be a rough fit with zero temps and gloves trying to get a 209 in place. It is a tight set up, no scope movement) now Im playing with loads while its cool out to cut down on the wait period btw shots. I found my first go around with 43 gns of 4759, W209 primers and 260 gn Dead Center bullets were a little crazy, then discovered my charges were all over -/+2-8 gns from a cheap digi powder scale, bought a better Hodgdon scale since. Now waiting for my 290gn Barnes, and 300 Hornady SST bullets, and HPH/12 sabot to arrive for another test, Ill give the Dead Centers another try if the others test well as I cant put the blame on them knowing my scale was toast.

This whole build have been fun reading and asking questions and taking people's word for most of the build. I know I'm not building a fancy rifle but so far I have no complaints. Only complaint I have is I waiting on my buddy to give my pro hunter back to me so I can go shoot. He used it last deer season and failed to drop it off. Thought getting that back was going to be the easy part. Lol. I have other pro hunter frames but I'm anal with the guns I have and each one has it's place and I have a plan for each one. I have another buddy that's getting his barrel back from slufoot next week I hope. So this will be fun. We will be off to the range shooting and figuring out what the guns like. I'll for sure get some pics posted so I can be critiqued. Lol
