Approx. 2 weeks ago she discovered the "go" switch. This am was a balmy 17 degrees with a fresh 4 inches of snow when I cut her loose. I started to finish getting ready and I heard a dog hit the hardwood kind of deep. I looked around and Casey was no where to be seen. I grabbed the Garmin Alpha and it showed she was in there 250 yds. I hurried up and took off to her and she had 2 greys treed up a monstrous ash tree. I did not know there was 2 until I rolled one out and the second bailed and she did not see it as she was busy with the one that hit the leaves. We are off to great start! I cut her loose again and she trees 2 more singles...both fox squirrels. By this time I am ready for some heat. The older I get the more the cold hurts the ole joints.I know I am a wussy. That and I wanted to see Peyton put the smack down on the Patriots! lol I get home and roll sleeping beauty (my son) out of bed and have him take her for a pm hunt. She trees 2 singles a Grey And a Fox squirrel. 5 trees..6 squirrels seen. I pretty good day for a 7 mo. old puppy! Following is a pic of the pm hunt..

Tar12 I always enjoy reading about someone’s adventure with a 4-legged hunting partner. Thanks for taking the time to share. Yeah as we get older our bodies have a tendency to complain more even when our spirit drives us on to get out there. It’s getting to the point even I may need a support to my right knee joint soon. Had a torn cartilage removed about 38-years ago and now am starting to feel the affect. But I’m still going to hunt even if I have to limp along. I can come to terms with aging but not any restrictions imposed. Ed
